Your guide to live music, local events, and where to be this weekend in Simi.

Where Simi Valley Locals stay in the know. No fluff.

Good morning, Simi Valley!

The city’s finally updating its bike plan. (Last one came out when flip phones were still a thing.)

And yeah, all those dump trucks headed to the landfill? The city addressed it — sort of, relief is on the horizon.

Let’s jump in.

📹 Fire Debris & Landfill Presentation Now Available

A recording of the May 19 City Council meeting is now available, featuring a joint presentation by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Waste Management on fire debris cleanup and increased waste deliveries to the Simi Valley Landfill.

The good news? Officials say the uptick in dump truck traffic should significantly decrease by mid-summer as fire debris removal efforts begin to wind down.

🚲 Simi Valley Bicycle Master Plan: 2025 Update Underway

The City of Simi Valley is updating its Bicycle Master Plan for the first time since 2008 — and they want your input.

The plan includes improvements to safety, connectivity, and rider experience across town, with key features like:

  • Key Focus Areas:

    • Buffered Bike Lanes: Implementing bike lanes with physical buffers to separate cyclists from vehicular traffic, enhancing safety.

    • Arroyo Simi Greenway Enhancements: Upgrading the Arroyo Simi Bike Path with improved trail entries, signage, and amenities to encourage more usage.

    • Educational Programs: Introducing biking safety and awareness programs in coordination with local schools to promote cycling among students.
