The Weekly Crave

Nectar of the Dogs Wine, founded by Melanie Garibay in 2015, was born from her love of dogs and wine and her mission to support dog rescue organizations. The production winery in Camarillo crafts premium, small-lot California wines that are approachable, elegant, and made to share with guests in the tasting room located in Simi Valley.
With every bottle sold, a portion of the proceeds is donated to nonprofits dedicated to helping rescue dogs find their forever homes. Inspired by Melanie and Todd’s own beloved pups~ the pups who grace the labels~ Nectar of the Dogs Wine invites wine lovers and dog lovers alike to “sip for a cause” and make a difference, one glass at a time!

Head over and enjoy a glass, a bottle, or a tasting! Check out all of their Award-Winning Wines HERE! I’m a cab guy myself, but it’s hard to pass up a silky pinot noir or a delicious red blend!

⚡ Power Shut-offs & Bill Changes Ahead
Southern California Edison is warning Simi Valley customers to brace for more frequent and longer planned power shut-offs this fall as wildfire risks rise. At the Sept. 15 City Council meeting, SCE officials explained that new Public Safety Power Shutoff rules will weigh local weather, wind, and fire conditions, meaning areas that haven’t seen shut-offs before could now be affected. Customers will now receive three days’ notice before an outage.
On top of that, a new billing structure begins in November. Most customers will see a fixed $24 monthly Base Services Charge, while per-kilowatt-hour rates drop slightly. Depending on usage, some households could pay more, others less.
SCE urges residents to prepare with battery backups or generators and sign up for VC Alert for outage notifications. More info: sce.com/outage.
