Main Scoop

Mark your calendars, because this Sunday Simi is making history. Rancho Simi Community Park will host the city’s first-ever International Day of Peace Concert, a global holiday established by the United Nations and celebrated around the world.

City Councilman Joseph Ayala will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the evening, guiding a program that blends community spirit with powerful performances. The lineup features the Abbe Road singers and the Simi Valley Community Concert Band and Choir, filling the park with music dedicated to hope, harmony, and togetherness. To quote our friends John and Yoko, “All we are saying is give peace a chance.” More specifically, give the Simi Peace Concert a chance, you won’t be disappointed!

Bring your blankets, chairs, and friends for this free outdoor concert that invites our community to join millions across the globe in celebrating peace.

The Weekly Crave

🍳 Weekly Crave Best Simi Breakfast Poll Winner…

You all have spoken and their pick is clear. This best breakfast winner is tucked away in the shopping center I refer to as the Bermuda Triangle of Simi Valley, since my wife will sometimes disappear for hours between the Target, Trader Joe’s and Starbucks there. That’s right, Eggs ’N’ Things has officially been crowned Simi Scoop’s Best Breakfast Spot, as voted by you our Simi Scoop faithful! 🏆

From fluffy pancakes the size of your plate to omelets stuffed with farm-fresh goodness, this local favorite has been fueling mornings in Simi for years. This is no surprise getting a table on a Sunday morning without a loooong wait is not likely, but I will say, it is worth the wait!

Whether you’re a weekend brunch warrior or a weekday regular, it’s easy to see why Eggs ’N’ Things ran away with the title. So next time you’re wondering where to break your fast, check out Eggs n’ Things. I prefer to cover my eggs with their Pepperplant hot sauce, you’ll like it so much you might just have to buy a bottle of your own!

Don’t take my word for it, check out all the delish items on their MENU for yourself!

📍 2955 Cochran St, Simi Valley
⏰ Open daily 6 AM – 2 PM

And for those of you looking for a visual on the Simi Bermuda Triangle, here ya go!

Local Topping

This Saturday, you don’t have to drive to the beach to make a difference — you can do it right here in Simi. The City’s Environmental Compliance Division is hosting Coastal Cleanup Day, California’s largest volunteer event, at Rancho Simi Community Park (Duck Park). From 9 to noon, neighbors will gather along the Arroyo Simi (The Wash) to roll up their sleeves and keep our waterways clean.

It’s a chance to give back, protect local habitats, and even earn community service hours. Cleanup supplies and waivers will be provided on-site, but volunteers should bring sturdy shoes, gloves, long pants, and plenty of sun protection. Click HERE to learn more!
